RTÉ is Irelands national public-service media organisation. A leader in Irish media, RTÉ provides comprehensive, cost-effective, free-to-air multi-media services to the public in Ireland and interested audiences internationally. RTÉ now wishes to recruit for the position of Schedule Support, within the Platform Scheduling team which is part of our Platform Operations Department. Reporting to the Platform Scheduling Supervisor, the Schedule Support role is responsible for preparing schedules across all RTÉ Platforms. The ethos of the Platform Operations department is one of continuous improvement and relentless challenging of the “norm”. We want to simplify how we work, and we want to be restless in our approach to innovation and trying new things. The Role: You will be working with internal teams to create accurate, optimal and compliant schedules for RTÉs platforms, including TV, Radio and Digital services. Youll use bespoke scheduling tools and work with a range of stakeholders across RTÉ including commercial, marketing and programme making. In this role, the viewer experience will be at the forefront of what you do. It takes a very keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills and an ability to remain calm under pressure. Youll be at the sharp end of ensuring our viewers can watch their favourite programme across RTÉs platforms. Key responsibilities will include:
  • Planning and timing schedules for RTÉ platforms, working closely with Commercial, Marketing, Operational, and Content teams.
  • Ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all Platform Scheduling services through excellent attention to detail.
  • Building and maintaining productive working relationships with clients and working continuously with them to improve schedule operational services.
  • Participating in projects and initiatives to ensure business requirements are met. Be a point of contact, input data, implement new workflows, test and train.
  • Assisting in operations across the department to deliver a best-in-class service. Providing cover and support for a range of roles across Platform Scheduling, as required.
  • Ensuring the schedule runs to time and are finalised for export.
The successful candidate will:
  • Have an understanding of scheduling systems and processes across all RTÉ platforms, with a strong knowledge of RTÉs content.
  • Have an aptitude for meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, dealing with large volumes of data and able to retain information
  • Be a flexible team player with a positive working attitude to all duties assigned.
  • Be proactive and approachable - willing to work across teams, help team members, learn new skills and go the extra mile when needed.
  • Embrace change and innovation; proactively striving for continuous improvement.
  • Work well under pressure, meeting tight deadlines in a very busy environment.
  • Have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain effective working relations with a wide range of stakeholders.
Previous scheduling experience will be considered highly advantageous. This temporary appointment will be made on a fixed purpose full-time contract basis, (initially 6 months) at an appropriate point on the Administrative Grade 2 scale from €35,229 to €49,164 gross per annum. A two-year panel may be formed from this competition from which future vacancies may be filled.
