Job purpose:

The purpose of the Air Freight Product Director is to develop, lead, and optimize the companys air freight product offering to ensure competitiveness, profitability, and alignment with market demands. This role involves strategic oversight, operational excellence, and strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional service and drive sustainable growth in the air freight sector. This role is critical for driving the success and competitive positioning of the companys air freight product within the global logistics market.

Key responsibilities:

• Define and implement air freight product and capacity management activities at country level.
• Monitor market trends, develop and introduce alternatives to enhance services and processes to secure cost-effective and competitive products rate with airline suppliers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, airlines and other service providers to secure competitive rates and reliable capacity.
• Drive short and long-range plans, objectives, policies and procedures to translate overall product strategy, shareholder interests and profitability.
• Develop and implement product solutions for various air freight customer sectors, including perishables, life sciences, technology, automotive, engineering and manufacture, consumer, aviation, etc.
• Lead air freight carrier management, development of product, budget and the achievement of productivity targets.
• Promote assessment of carrier performance though reports and reviews
• Manage the air freight P&L, setting and achieving revenue, margin, cost targets and Ebit.
• Regularly analyze financial performance and take corrective actions to address variances.
• Serve business processes to ensure that customer, airline, cost and service requirements are met according with budget guidelines
• Ensure operational processes are efficient and compliant with industry regulations.
• Provide expert and high-level advice on complex issues, identify opportunities and introduce best practices for air freight product focusing on increasing the results and reducing costs
• Improve procurement strategy for Brazil.

Stakeholders:

• Extensive contact and negotiation with other areas and 3rd parties
• Develop strong, trusting relationships with senior DHL business leaders
• Champion cooperation and partnership to provide integrated solutions to problems

Management responsibilities:

• Build, mentor and lead a high-performing team of air freight specialists and managers
• P&L management and reporting results to CEO and regional
